Itinerary
Departure
10.00 am: Departure from your hotel or central meeting point, enjoying having a certified sommelier sharing its knowledge of Crete and its wines.
First winery
Arrival at Karavitakis winery in the beautiful village of Pontikiana. Karavitakis is an iconic winery for Chania with decades of history. At their garden you will taste 7 specially selected wines from our sommelier, which you will enjoy paired with organic olives from the winery’s olive grove and homemade rusks
Second Winery
Stop in an organically farmed vineyard where you will discover the art of viticulture, you will touch the soil, smell and taste the grapes. Head to the Pateromihelakis family house where the winery has been set in their 17th hundred stone built basement. There you will taste the wines and the olive oil of the family both organically farmed. A delicious full mezze lunch will be offered to you while tasting the wines. This experience ends with a glass of aged ‘tsikoudia’ the symbolic grape distilled drink of Crete.
Light Lunch
Enjoy a traditional lunch in the winery accompanied with wine selections of the estate’s vineyard.
Drive Back
Drive back to the pick up point… till next time.
