We drive towards the western point of Chania to Kolymbari, while passing an ‘all shades of green’ area full of olive groves we arrive at our first stop at Pontikiana, where Karavitakis winery is located.

The founder Manolis Karavitakis is the creator of the ‘unicorn’ wine Ostria, a sweet wine from Romeiko grape variety that gave him the title of the ‘best’ enologist of his time. His son Nikos is continuing his father legacy. There, we will taste 7 wines paired with local cheeses. The tour continues towards Vatolakos to another iconic winery of Chania, Manousakis winery. Well deserved they are called the ‘Mondavis’ of Crete, since they were among the first wineries in Crete which believed in wine tourism and they created one of the most beautiful wine tasting places on the island. At their tasting terrace you will taste 7 wines paired with mezze lunch of local dishes carefully made from their cook Maria with ingredients that have been harvested exclusively from their vegetable gardens.

After your lunch you will have the opportunity to stroll around the winery and enjoy the beauty of their olive and citrus grove. Your tour is ending with lots of wine, tastes and unforgettable memories.
