Agiorgitiko is a variety that offers great possibilities of flexibility to winemakers. Depending on its origin (flat, hilly, mountainous) the Agiorgitiko grape can be used for the production of wide-ranging range of wines: from aromatic rosé to red. The area is best known for its relatively light, fortified and easy-to-dry red wines, as well as the robust reds, which require perennial ageing in barrels and in the bottle before they are consumed. They are friendly and warm with velvety texture and abundant aromas of spices and nuts that make them fit with almost all the cooked dishes of the classic Greek cuisine.
